Idea Napkin No. 1

1) I am a man that is experienced in the outdoors as well as construction. I am very good at understanding the landscape and picturing what it can be.  I aspire to eventually be the successful owner/operator/manager of a hunting guide service on my own large piece of land.  I see the site development business blossoming into a large and successful business venture that will allow me to buy the large piece of property that is required for my guide service.

2) The service that I intend to provide to the customers would be land clearing/site development for new construction on previously undeveloped land

3) My customers will be property owners or construction managers that have a previously undeveloped tract of land that needs to be cleared in order for new construction, or creating a field or modifying the land in any way.

4) The customers will be willing to pay for this service because they need the land to be cleared and the site developed in order to continue the construction project and create revenue for their company.

5) The thing that will set me apart from others will be that my company will be available to do work that most others wont such as swampy areas as well as being available when other companies are all booked up.

My 5 elements seem to do a pretty good job of fitting together.  The element that is a little bit of a misfit is my personal aspiration of owning a guide service,  this isn't exactly related to this business but this business will provide a means to purchase land for the guide business.

  1. Hi Andrew,
Wow this idea is quite different from all the others I have read! I think it is really cool that you are so interested in construction and site development. Do you have any ideas on where you will want to run the business? Since you are buying land, I think this is a big consideration factor. Good identification of target customer group, though it would be nice to see a little bit more detail related to the customer group, perhaps demographic, psychographic or behavioral segmentations such as income (do you plan to sell to more affluent or less wealthy individuals), usage rate (will they be regular users? What does customer loyalty usually look like?).
