My Entrepreneurship Story
I have been exposed to entrepreneurship as long as I can remember. My family has owned a used car dealership since 1975, obviously I wasn’t around when the business was starting but I have been around for many of the major changes that have taken place over the years. When I was 14 my uncle bought out his uncle and became a partner in the business, since then the business has prospered more then could’ve been previously imagined. I have been working under my uncle at the dealership since he bought in to the business, I began as a detailer and eventually got more into the mechanical side of the business. Throughout the whole process my uncle was always looking for ways to make the business more money, whether that meant buying cars that were wrecked or needed serious mechanical work that most other dealerships wouldn’t be able to make sellable or doing mechanical work for friends to even installing aftermarket equipment on vehicles for large fleet companies. The image below shows me laying next to a motor that i pulled out of a wrecked truck, the parts from this motor, transmission, and truck later went on to fix 3 other non running trucks.
I enrolled in this class in order to further solidify my entrepreneurial skills and business instinct. I hope to learn a decent amount about not only running a business but what problems there are to be solved in the world and how to best take monetary advantage of these situations.
