Identifying Opportunites in Economic and Regulatory Trends
I have identified 4 different opportunities, 2 of which are based on regulatory changes and 2 of which are based on economic trends
Opportunity 1
I found this opportunity in an article put out by the Florida Wildlife Commission (FWC), the FWC is planning to begin allowing for the harvest of goliath grouper in the near future based on a lottery tag system, there will be an unmet need of people who wish to catch goliath grouper but don't know how to or where to do it. The prototypical customer will be anglers who wish to catch goliath grouper but need assistance, whether that be because of lack of knowledge or lack of boat or lack of tag. This opportunity will be relatively easy to take advantage of because of my skill set in fishing and the great popularity of this fish. What made me see this opportunity was my passion for all things outdoors.
Opportunity 2
I found this opportunity in an article written a while ago about the legalization of medical marijuana in the state of Florida. This causes an unmet need of those with conditions that wish to purchase medical marijuana. The prototypical customer will be those patients who have a condition that warrant the prescription of medical marijuana. This opportunity will be more difficult to take advantage of because of the regulations that surround marijuana. What made me see this opportunity was the people who are close to me that have conditions that can be helped with medical marijuana.
Opportunity 3
I found this opportunity in an article written about the predicted increase in the housing market in Florida. This causes an unmet need for people looking for quality housing at affordable prices, this means that i could get into buying very cheap houses and either fixing them up and selling as move in ready or selling them as fixer upers. the prototypical customer will be someone with expensive taste in houses but not necessarily the budget to buy an expensive house. This opportunity could be difficult to take advantage of because of the possible scarcity of cheap houses to buy. What made me see this opportunity was my back round in renovating houses.

One trend that i have personally noticed is small companies outsourcing their customer engagement, specifically their social media engagement, this creates an opportunity for a business that runs social media for small companies and grows their popularity. The prototypical customer is the small business owner who may not have enough time to effectively run their social media pages for their company but wish to have this form of marketing that is extremely popular in today's business world. This opportunity should be fairly simple to take advantage of due to the low overhead involved with such a venture. What made me see this opportunity was my most recent venture into building a social media presence for my outdoor photography and videography profile.

ReplyDeleteI believe social media can be used as an opportunity for small businesses to increase their market as well. Social media has made a significant change in the way we notice and experiences new things. I believe using any social media platform for marketing has more benefits than the traditional way of advertising and marketing due to its cost efficiency.
